review of xggcomms interface for 13 pin icoms

got the cable off Ebay form xggcomms had issues (my PC I think load a new version of MixW but I DigiPan up a few minutes later an had the rig (the IC 718 my wife picked out at aessuperfest last year when she got her general license.

Had 2 qsois in a matter of mintues including a best station I can hear

Have not yet set up to use the laptops as planned but success so far

now I can easly use the radio while uploading stuff for my ecomerce sites like the newly opened kb9rqz.cc.cc

It's function is to allow for feedback and expand my working knowledge of web site control in preperation for helping my wife is major when we set an emcomercre site.

well I ahve been with them a bout a week now and so far I am quite happy

happy enough to promote the site

tech support is there 24/7 and is very pataint even with those that like myself are not sure what they are doing

the dollar a month plan seem a bit cheap with phpp/sql databases one seems to needs for various addon to your site (the 3 buck a month plan seems a bit more rebust on that score but they are cheap 21 bucks would up yourcall dot com or net or org somebody else

yes you click through and buy I get paid something but they do seems be a decent job at a decent price

I have hd no problem setting up a perl based shopping payment service to take paypal and not much problem with seting up word press to host a blog there at kb9rqz.com

I was tuning for listen in to mess near 14.275 I found I had to go to finer graining turn since I was tuned at 14.27446 MHZ just a few thoughts from the Kosher ham on the adjudgement from the wide open spaces we have at vhf and above

I am aware thatfolks have said everything needs a chassis goround OTOH many of the same folks also said everyone needs to learn Mors e Code in order to be a sucfessfull ham and everyone must suffer forthier licenses etc

in case i point out they did get it right for a change do try grounding your hf rigs esp if you are having any kind of noice problems

grounding

chassis grounding is something I have neglected as a Hamm after it doesn't seem to help much at VHF plus ndeed most of my VHF gear can't be grounded very well

HF seems to be another story I found this out when I decided to ground my gear at the insistance of the intructions for the AL-811 amp.

I was shocked at the result. and then tried it on my older FT 847 which I had all but given up for dead at HF and the resulting improvement in prefrom was shocking

accordingly I have to suggest that no matter what your experences have been at VHFplus with gound try it on mf and hf spectrum
